FIRST MASTERCLASS WITH GB SQUAD SWIMMERS

Sunday 6th June: The Piranhas welcomed GB National Squad Swimmers Ian Hulme and Michael Jamieson to coach our first “Masterclass” covering their specialty strokes -  Fly and Breaststroke. After the session they awarded their GB hats to star pupils Josephine Hawkins and Sam Gibbs ! Thanks to Paul, Jason, and Pete and all members supporting this event.

Edenbridge Piranhas

The Edenbridge Piranhas’ Swimming Club was founded in 1994 and is affiliated to the A.S.A. Kent Region. Our home pool is the Sencio Leisure Centre in Edenbridge.

We are open to boys and girls of all ages. Our objectives are to provide a safe, exciting, and fun setting for children of a range of abilities to improve their swimming skills, their fitness, and for the club to continuously improve its competitiveness in regional swimming competitions.

Help Needed!

We still need a broader cross-section of parents to volunteer for various tasks. These include assisting the Coach on the poolside (no training necessary, just a keen eye and enthusiasm), assistance with galas both poolside (timing, judging, scoring, etc.), front of house (setting up chairs, selling raffle tickets, etc.) and transport to away galas, etc. The Club comprises about 100 families and we need all of them to each make a small commitment if the Club is to run effectively.

If you would like to help, then please contact any of the Club officials, or email us at: swimpiranhas@aol.com

A Welcome from our Chairman, Paul Norris...

“Edenbridge Piranhas is a young and upcoming Club. We pride ourselves in being a friendly Club with a competitive edge and we now have 130 active swimming members.

EPSC competes in the Octopus, Kent Junior, and NSL Leagues, as well as various invitational galas. This year, we have had a record number of wins...Fantastic effort. Well done to all our members....

As a Club, over the last two years, building on our solid foundations, we have excelled. We are now moving into a position where our swimmers will dictate exactly how far we can go – the sky’s the limit!

Recently, we applied for Swim 21 membership which is a huge step forward for the Club because we only exist thanks to parents giving up their free time to run the Club. This website is also part of our application to conform to Swim 21 standards.

I would like to take this space to welcome all the new readers and I hope you like what you see! Equally, I would like to thank all those without whose time and dedication there would be no Edenbridge Piranhas.

Paul”
